West will miss the first half of the Tennessee game next week. Kentucky football released its newest depth chart on Monday morning. There were minor changes. The Kentucky Wildcats will look to regroup from Saturday’s setback when they take on the Tennessee Volunteers in Week 11.

The Cats vs. Vols rivalry goes back all the way to 1893. Overall, Tennessee has dominated Kentucky in the all-time football series 75-25-9. Between 1985 and 2010 the Vols owned Kentucky, beating them 25 years in a row.

But it was Kentucky who won the last meeting when they won 29-26 at home in 2017. UK has not beaten Tennessee while playing on the road since 1984, so this is another great opportunity for a marquee victory to make this season even more special than it already is.

Any road win in the SEC is great but winning at Neyland Stadium would be another major accomplishment, especially against a team desperately needed a win to stay in the hunt for a bowl game.

On Saturday, Tennessee took care of Charlotte beating them 14-3 at home in an ugly win. Charlotte actually controlled much of the game and even out gained the Vols in total yardage 244-192. It was far from an impressive victory for Tennessee, who didn’t even score after the first quarter. The Vols also only rushed for an embarrassing 20 yards on the day.

Still, the Vols control their own destiny in terms of making a bowl. They just need two more wins, but getting them won’t be easy with games vs. Kentucky, Missouri and at Vanderbilt.

As much as losing to Georgia stung, there is still reason to be excited, and winning on Saturday will rejuvenate the players and fans. A major bowl is still on the table, and Kentucky will need to regroup quickly before heading to Knoxville.

The Kentucky Wildcats and Tennessee Volunteers meet Saturday in college football action at Neyland Stadium.

The Kentucky Wildcats look for a third road victory, as they have a shot to win at least eight games for the first time since the 2007 season. The Kentucky Wildcats have won five of their last eight road games. Terry Wilson is completing 67.6 percent of his passes for 1,214 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions. Wilson has one or less touchdown passes in seven straight games. Lynn Bowden Jr. and David Bouvier have combined for 679 receiving yards and five touchdowns while C.J. Conrad has 21 receptions. The Kentucky Wildcats ground game is averaging 199.5 yards per contest, and Benny Snell Jr. leads the way with 1,008 yards and 10 touchdowns. Defensively, Kentucky is allowing 15.3 points and 311.8 yards per game. Darius West leads the Kentucky Wildcats with 60 tackles, Josh Allen has 10 sacks and Tyrell Ajian has one interception.

The Tennessee Volunteers look for back-to-back wins to get back to a .500 record and improve their chances at a bowl berth. The Tennessee Volunteers have split their last eight home games. Jarrett Guarantano is completing 65.6 percent of his passes for 1,571 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions. Guarantano has three touchdown passes and zero interceptions in his last three games. Josh Palmer and Marquez Callaway have combined for 816 receiving yards and two touchdowns while Jauan Jennings has 26 receptions. The Tennessee Volunteers ground game is averaging 127.6 yards per contest, and Tim Jordan leads the way with 414 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Tennessee is allowing 26.7 points and 368.4 yards per game. Daniel Bituli leads the Tennessee Volunteers with 57 tackles, Kyle Phillips has three sacks and Bryce Thompson has three interceptions.

The Wildcats are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 road games, 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games in November and 1-7 ATS vs. a team with a losing record. The Volunteers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games in November. The Wildcats are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Tennessee, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings and the favorite is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 meetings.

The Kentucky Wildcats failed in their attempt to prove they’re ready to be SEC contenders in a loss to Georgia, but they’ve been one of the more consistent and surprising teams in the coutnry this season. The Tennessee Volunteers have really struggled on the offensive side of the ball this season and it’s not easy to compete in the SEC when you can’t run the football. The Kentucky Wildcats have failed to cover each of their last 10 games when a favorite of at least three points. The Tennessee Volunteers have covered three of their last four games when an underdog of at least three points. With all that said, I’ll take the Vols at home and the free points. Kentucky hasn’t covered a game as a favorite of at least three points in over two years. The Vols have won eight of the last 10 meetings against Kentucky. The Tennessee Volunteers also need this game if they want a real shot of clinching a bowl berth. I’ll take my chances with the points.

Alabama vs Mississippi State

Alabama vs Mississippi State: Top-ranked Alabama will host No. 16 Mississippi State on Saturday, Nov. 10, for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The Crimson No. 1 Alabama polished off the SEC West title last week against LSU, but that doesn’t mean the division slate is complete. No. 18

Mississippi Mississippi State is next up for the daunting task of trying to defeat No. 1 Alabama. The Bulldogs get their shot this week when they travel to Tuscaloosa on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on CBS. Alabama ran its record to 9-0 with a 29-0 thumping of LSU last time out, while Mississippi State battered Louisiana Tech 45-3. The Crimson Tide opened as 24-point favorites and are now laying 23.5, while the over-under has inched up from 51.5 to 53 in the latest Alabama vs. Mississippi State odds. Before you make any Alabama vs. Mississippi State picks, you need to see what the SportsLine Projection Model has to say.

The advanced computer model simulates every FBS game 10,000 times, and those who have followed it have seen massive returns. In the past three years, this proprietary model has generated a jaw-dropping $4,210 profit for $100 bettors.

The model made some huge calls in Week 10, including the biggest game of the season, recommending the Crimson Tide against the spread (-14), on the money line (-588) and hitting the under in Alabama’s destruction of LSU. It also nailed its top-rated selection on Auburn (-3.5) over Texas A&M, helping the model finish the weekend on a strong 7-3 run on all top-rated picks.

Now, the model has crunched the numbers for Alabama vs. Mississippi State. We can tell you it’s leaning under, but it has also generated a strong point-spread pick that hits in more than 60 percent of simulations. That pick is only available at SportsLine.

The model has factored in that Alabama’s offense runs through quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Heisman Trophy contender is a little banged up, but has been nothing short of brilliant all season. He has completed 68 percent of his passes for over 2,300 yards and 27 touchdowns — with just one interception. He also has racked up 172 rushing yards and run in three more scores. His top two receivers, Jerry Jeudy and Jaylen Waddle, are deep threats who are gouging defenses for 20-plus yards per catch.

The Crimson Tide also employ a ground game that nets 5.5 yards per carry. Behind one of the most imposing offensive lines in college football, the one-two backfield punch of Najee Harris, who’s nursing a mild ankle sprain, and Damien Harris creates headaches for opposing front sevens. Najee Harris averages 6.8 yards per carry and leads Bama in rushing yardage with 572.

But just because the Crimson Tide are rolling doesn’t mean they’ll cover a huge number against the Bulldogs.

Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald is a nightmare for opposing defenses. He has thrown for 1,252 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for another 839 and nine scores. The 6-foot-5 senior threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns against Louisiana Tech and ran for another 107 yards.

Running back Kylin Hill averages 6.6 yards per carry for a Bulldogs team averaging a whopping 231 rushing yards per game.

The Bulldogs have lost three games this season, but would have covered Saturday’s 23.5-point spread in each game. They also beat then-No. 16 Texas A&M by 15 two weeks ago.

Who wins Mississippi State vs. Alabama? And which side covers in more than 60 percent of simulations? Visit SportsLine now to see which side of Saturday’s SEC showdown you need to be all over, all from the incredible computer model that’s up more than $4,200 over the past three years.
